ABOUT EAGLE RIDGE AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLES

We have been breeding doodles since 2007.  In 2017, we started feeling that doodle breeding was getting out of control and researched how to set standards for the doodles we bred.  We found the Australian Labradoodle breed which have been purposely bred since the 1980s with high standards and required testing to register the breed.

The Australian Labradoodle breed dates back to the 1980's and was initiated by Wally Conran of Royal Guide Dogs located in Victoria Australia.  The intent was to create a breed that was allergy and asthma friendly with the temperament of a service dog.  The journey was inspired by a vision impaired woman in Hawaii who needed a Guide Dog which wouldn't aggravate her husband's allergies.  Of the 31 Labradoodles bred at Royal Guide Dogs, 29 made it through as Guide Dogs...an accolade of unparalleled proportion for this "new breed" of Guide Dog.

It takes more than a lab and a poodle to create  an Australian Labradoodle with the temperament, health, beauty, and fantastic disposition that you want in a family dog.  The Australian labradoodle has a service dog temperament which is fantastic for families.
